Bio-based insulation for floors, ceilings and partitions

Improve the thermal and acoustic comfort of your spaces with Gramitherm®.

Insulating floors and partitions significantly enhances both thermal and acoustic comfort. Gramitherm® offers strong sound absorption capabilities.

General installation guidelines

Whether in floors or joists, the panels should be installed under slight lateral compression between the joist/frame members—allowing 2 to 4 cm of compression.

Installing panels in partitions

In partitions, panels should be installed vertically to avoid settling. For heights exceeding two panels, add a horizontal support batten. Ensure light vertical compression of 1 to 2 cm to maintain stability.

Need for airtight membranes

An airtight membrane is required when the partition or floor separates spaces with differing heating or humidity conditions. If both rooms have similar environments, the membrane is not strictly necessary but remains useful to keep the worksite clean.

Electrical cabling and lighting points

Ideally, create a dedicated space for running cables and technical lines. Ensure that electrical connections are not made inside the insulation and are sealed properly.

For ceilings, insulation must never come into direct contact with recessed lighting. A minimum 10 cm plenum is required, and applicable fire safety standards must be followed.

Suspended and acoustic ceilings

Suspended ceilings

A suspended ceiling insulated with Gramitherm® can be built using Sixbox hangers (various models available).

Acoustic ceilings

Given its excellent sound absorption, Gramitherm® can greatly enhance room acoustics through fully decoupled suspended ceilings. Solutions are available with Ampack and Acoustix product ranges.
